Removal Procedure
Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .
Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .
- Dash Upper Extension Panel Opening Cover Replacement - Remove
Radiator Surge Tank Clip (2) - Remove
- Hang out the radiator surge tank (1) without disconnecting the hoses and lay down carefully.
Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)
- Remove the brake fluid return hose (3) from the brake fluid reservoir (4).
- Brake Fluid Return Hose (3) - Remove
If equipped, disconnect the power brake booster vacuum pipe (2) from the power brake booster.
- If equipped, disconnect the power brake booster vacuum pipe (2) from the power brake booster vacuum pipe retainer (1)
If equipped, disconnect the power brake booster vacuum pipe sensor connector (3) from the power brake booster vacuum pipe sensor.
- If equipped, disconnect the power brake booster vacuum pipe (4) from the power brake booster vacuum pipe retainer (1).
- If equipped, disconnect the power brake booster vacuum pipe sensor (2) from the power brake booster.
Remove the power brake booster bolts (1).
Remove the brake pressure module valve bracket bolt (1) from the brake pressure module valve bracket (2).
Disconnect the 3 brake pressure pipes (1) from the brake pipe retainer (2)
Clutch Actuator Cylinder Pipe Retainer (1) - Remove
- Clutch Actuator Cylinder Pipe (2) - Remove
Pull the power brake booster carefully to front and remove the 3 brake, accelerator, and clutch pedal nuts (1).
- Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement - Remove.
- Lock the steering column.
- Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection - Disconnect
- Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side - Remove
- Disconnect the intermediate steering shaft from the power steering. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .
- Remove the steering column without removing the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
- Accelerator Pedal Replacement - Remove
- Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement - Remove
Remove the guide element (1) and (2) from the brake, accelerator, and clutch pedal assembly (arrows).
Remove the 4 brake pedal bracket bolts (1) from the tie bar.
- Separate the wiring harness from the brake, accelerator, and clutch pedal assembly.
- Remove the brake, accelerator, and clutch pedal assembly.
Disconnect the brake pedal push rod (1) from the brake pedal (2). Press the 2 tabs of the click fit connector (3) together and pull the brake pedal a bit to facilitate the removal.
Remove and DISCARD the click fit connector (1).
- Remove the brake, accelerator, and clutch pedal assembly.
Disconnect the clutch pedal (3) from the clutch master cylinder rod (2), using DT-6202-B Pliers (1).
Turn the clutch master cylinder clockwise to disconnect the clutch master cylinder from the brake, accelerator, and clutch pedal assembly.
Protect interior against draining brake fluid from clutch master cylinder.
Protect interior against draining brake fluid from clutch master cylinder.
