Removal Procedure

NOTE:

Clean the fuel connections and surrounding areas prior to disconnecting the lines in order to avoid possible contamination.

  1. Remove Rear Bumper Fascia - Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement (Chevrolet, GMC)Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement (Cadillac)
  2. Remove Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing -Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement
  3. Remove the fuel fill cap, if necessary.

  5. Remove Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Bracket Bolt (2) @Fuel Tank Filler Pipe (1).
  6. Remove the spare tire, if necessary.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  9. Remove the rear axle vent hose clip (1) from the fill pipe.
  10. Remove Automatic Level Control Air Compressor Inlet Tube Automatic Level Control Air Compressor Inlet Tube Replacement

  12. Disconnect the fuel tank vent line quick connect fitting (5) from the fill pipe line. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  13. Disconnect the fuel fill hose vent line quick connect fitting (3) from the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  14. Loosen the fuel fill hose clamp (6).
  15. Remove the fuel fill pipe bracket bolts (2, 4).
  16. Remove the fuel fill hose (1) from the fuel tank.
