Installation Procedure

  1. Apply a light coat of wheel speed sensor anti-corrosion grease to the wheel speed sensor and mounting pad on the wheel hub and bearing assembly. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and Sealers
  2. Install Wheel Speed Sensor (1)

  3. Install and tighten Wheel Speed Sensor Bolt (1) to 13 N.m (115 lb in)

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution
  4. Install the front wheel hub and bearing assembly to the steering knuckle while carefully feeding the wheel speed sensor harness through the brake shield.
  5. Install the front wheel hub and bearing bolts. Refer to Front Wheel Hub, Bearing and Seal Replacement (Light Duty)Front Wheel Hub, Bearing and Seal Replacement (Heavy Duty)
  6. Secure Wheel Speed Sensor Harness Clip (1) @ Steering Knuckle

  7. Secure Wheel Speed Sensor Harness Clip (1) @ Brake Hose

  8. Secure Wheel Speed Sensor Electrical Connector Clip (1)

  9. Connect Wheel Speed Sensor Electrical Connector
  10. Install Front Brake Rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement (JD9)Front Brake Rotor Replacement (J95)
  11. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (6-Lug Wheel)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (8-Lug Wheel)
  12. Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the repair: Diagnostic Repair Verification
