Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the instrument panel knee bolster (3). Refer to Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement .
- Remove the instrument panel compartment (2). Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
- Remove the floor air outlet duct (2). Refer to Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side (Left Hand Drive)Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side (Right Hand Drive) .
- Remove the temperature control cable retaining screw (1).
- Detach the temperature control cable (2) from the HVAC module.
- Remove the inside air recirculating control cable retaining screw (1).
- Detach the inside air recirculating control cable (2) from the HVAC module.
- Remove the mode control cable retaining screw (1).
- Detach the mode control cable (2) from the HVAC module.
- Remove the instrument panel (I/P) lower trim plate applique (3). Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Plate Applique Replacement .
- Remove the heater and air conditioning (A/C) control screws (1).
- Slide out the heater and air conditioning (A/C) control (2).
- Remove the heater and air conditioning control with cables (1).
