Removal Procedure

WARNING: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the instrument panel knee bolster (3). Refer to Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement .

  3. Remove the instrument panel compartment (2). Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .

  4. Remove the floor air outlet duct (2). Refer to Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side (Left Hand Drive)Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side (Right Hand Drive) .

  5. Remove the temperature control cable retaining screw (1).

  6. Detach the temperature control cable (2) from the HVAC module.
  7. Remove the inside air recirculating control cable retaining screw (1).

  8. Detach the inside air recirculating control cable (2) from the HVAC module.
  9. Remove the mode control cable retaining screw (1).

  10. Detach the mode control cable (2) from the HVAC module.
  11. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) lower trim plate applique (3). Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Plate Applique Replacement .

  12. Remove the heater and air conditioning (A/C) control screws (1).

  13. Slide out the heater and air conditioning (A/C) control (2).
  14. Remove the heater and air conditioning control with cables (1).
