Removal Procedure

Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Apply and release the brake pedal several times until it becomes firm to deplete the brake booster vacuum reserve.
  3. Remove the brake master cylinder assembly. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement (LHD) .
  4. Remove the power vacuum brake booster check valve and hose assembly from the brake booster grommet. Refer to Power Brake Booster Vacuum Check Valve and Hose Replacement (LHD) .
  5. Remove the I/P knee bolster. Refer to Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement .

  7. Remove the retaining clip (1) and pin (2) from brake pedal.
  8. Disconnect the brake booster pushrod (3) from the brake pedal.

  10. Remove the brake, accelerator and clutch pedal bracket nuts (1) retaining the power vacuum brake booster assembly.

  12. Remove the power vacuum brake booster assembly (1) from the vehicle.
