Removal Procedure

CAUTION:

- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Apply and release the brake pedal several times until the pedal becomes firm to deplete the power vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (L5Q)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LV7) .
- Release the brake master cylinder reservoir hose (1) clamp and disconnect the brake master cylinder reservoir hose (2) from the brake master cylinder home reservoir.
- Drain the brake fluid out of the brake master cylinder remote reservoir.
- Thoroughly clean the brake master cylinder reservoir and the brake master cylinder body to remove any dirt and debris.
- Disconnect the brake pressure modulator valve secondary pipe fitting and drain the brake fluid out of the master cylinder. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Replacement (RHD) .
- Disconnect the brake pressure modulator valve primary pipe fitting. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Primary Pipe Replacement (RHD) .
- Remove the brake master cylinder nuts (1).
- Remove the brake master cylinder (1) from the power vacuum brake booster.
- Remove the brake master cylinder home reservoir, if necessary. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement (RHD Home Reservoir) .
