Removal Procedure

- Remove the steering column upper trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Upper Trim Cover Replacement .
- Remove the steering column lower trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement .
- Remove the I/P knee bolster. Refer to Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement .
- Remove the intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .
- Remove the steering column assembly. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the accelerator pedal, brake pedal position sensor and clutch pedal position sensor, if equipped.
- Remove the clutch pedal position sensor and clutch pedal return spring to release the clutch master cylinder pushrod retainer lock and then disconnect the clutch master cylinder pushrod retainer from the clutch pedal, if equipped. - Remove the retaining clip (1) and pin (2) from the brake pedal.
- Disconnect the brake booster pushrod (3) from the brake pedal.
- Remove the brake, accelerator and clutch pedal bracket nuts (1).
- Remove the brake, accelerator and clutch pedal assembly (2) from the vehicle.
- Remove the following components from the brake, accelerator and clutch pedal assembly, as necessary.
- Accelerator pedal assembly
- Brake pedal position sensor or brake pedal position switch
- Brake pedal assembly
