Removal Procedure

- Remove the steering column upper trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Upper Trim Cover Replacement .
- Remove the steering column lower trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Lower Trim Cover Replacement .
- Remove the I/P knee bolster. Refer to Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement .
- Remove the intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .
- Remove the steering column assembly. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the accelerator pedal and brake pedal position sensor, if equipped.
- Remove the retaining clip (1) and pin (2) from the brake pedal.
- Disconnect the brake booster pushrod (3) from the brake pedal.
- Remove the brake and accelerator pedal bracket nuts (1).
- Remove the brake and accelerator pedal assembly (2) from the vehicle.
- Remove the following components from the brake and accelerator pedal assembly, as necessary.
- Accelerator pedal assembly
- Brake pedal position sensor or brake pedal position switch
- Brake pedal assembly
