Removal Procedure

- Open the hood.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LV7) .
- Disconnect the fuel injector connectors. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement (LV7) .
- Disconnect the any electrical connectors to set aside the engine main control wiring harness from camshaft cover.
- Remove the ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement (LV7) .
- Remove the camshaft position sensor. Refer to Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement (LV7) .
- Remove the camshaft position actuator solenoid valve. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Replacement (LV7) .
- Remove the engine lift front bracket (1), engine cover bracket (2), engine lift rear bracket (3) and engine pressure oxygen sensor bracket (4).
- Remove the vacuum pump. Refer to Vacuum Pump Assembly Replacement (LV7) .
- Remove the oil level indicator. Refer to Oil Level Indicator Replacement (LV7) .
- Remove the ball stud (1) from the camshaft cover.
- Remove the 4 camshaft cover stud bolts (1).
- Remove the 13 camshaft cover bolts (2).
- Remove the camshaft cover (3).
- Remove the camshaft cover gasket (1).
