Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Chevrolet Spark. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove the cured RTV carefully (1) and then clean the sealing surfaces.
- Apply RTV sealant to T-joint between cylinder head and front cover (1).NOTE: After RTV applying, the assembly completion time including torque check must be done within 8 minutes.
- Install the camshaft cover gasket (1) to the camshaft cover.
- Install the camshaft cover (3).
- Install the 13 camshaft cover bolts (1) and tighten to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Install the 4 camshaft cover stud bolts (2) and tighten to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
- Install the ball stud (1) to the camshaft cover and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the oil level indicator. Refer to Oil Level Indicator Replacement (LV7) .
- Install the vacuum pump. Refer to Vacuum Pump Assembly Replacement (LV7) .
- Install the engine lift front bracket (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the engine cover bracket (2), engine lift rear bracket (3) and engine pressure oxygen sensor bracket (4) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the camshaft position actuator solenoid valve. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Replacement (LV7) .
- Install the camshaft position sensor. Refer to Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement (LV7) .
- Install the ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement (LV7) .
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Connect the fuel injector connectors. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement (LV7) .
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LV7) .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Close the hood.
