Removal Procedure

- Set the park brake and chock the wheels.
- Without draining the coolant or removing the hoses, remove and position aside the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
- Remove the ECM from the battery tray. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
- Position the transmission manual shift lever into the park position.
- Disconnect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (1) from the transmission range selector lever.
- Press the retainer clip tabs inward in order to release the transmission range selector lever cable (2) from the cable bracket.
- Remove the transmission range selector lever cable clip nuts (1).
- Remove the transmission range selector lever cable bracket (2) from the underbody.
- Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
- Disconnect the transmission range selector lever cable terminal (2) from the shift lever pin (3).
- Release the transmission range selector lever cable retainer (1) and remove the transmission range selector cable from the transmission control lever base (4).
- Remove the transmission range selector lever cable grommet nuts (1).
- Remove the transmission range selector lever cable grommet (2).
- Remove the transmission range selector lever cable from the vehicle.
