Adjustment Procedure

NOTE:
Adjust the range selector lever cable while the transmission and the gear selector are in the Park position only. Failure to do so may cause mis-adjustment.
- Set the park brake and chock the wheels.
- Without draining the coolant or removing the hoses, remove and position aside the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
- Remove the ECM from the battery tray. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
- Verify the transmission range selector lever is in the park position.
- Verify the transmission manual shift lever is in the park position.
- Disconnect the range selector lever cable terminal (1) from the transmission manual shift lever pin.
- Press the locking tabs inward in order to release the range selector lever cable (2) from the cable bracket.
- Release the range selector lever cable adjustment lock.
- Slide the black tab back.
- Insert a screwdriver into the slot under the white tab and pull up on the white tab.
- Install the range selector lever cable (2) to the cable bracket.
- Connect the range selector lever cable terminal (1) to the transmission manual shift lever pin.
- Lock the control cable adjustment tab.
- Push down on the white tab to secure in place.
- Slide the black tab over the white tab to lock in place.
- Install the ECM to the battery tray. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
- Install the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
- Verify the proper operation.
