Adjustment Procedure

- Remove the automatic transmission range select lever. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Replacement .
- Disconnect the manual shift shaft position switch electrical connector (1) from the manual shift shaft position switch (2).
- Make sure the transmission manual shaft is in the neutral (N) position.
- Loosen, DO NOT REMOVE the manual shift shaft position switch bolts (3).
- Set DT-51175 range switch alignment checker to the manual shift shaft position switch and adjust neutral (N) position of manual shift shaft position switch.
- Tighten the manual shift shaft position switch bolts (1) 6 N.m (53 lb in)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Remove DT-51175 range switch alignment checker from the manual shift shaft position switch.
- Connect the manual shift shaft position switch electrical connector (1) to the manual shift shaft position switch (2).
- Install the automatic transmission range selector lever. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Replacement .
- Verify the engine only starts in Park or Neutral. If the engine starts in any other position, adjust the switch.
