Installation Procedure

  1. Coat the shift control housing with recommended Shift Control Housing Sealant -THREE BOND 1215 or LOCTITE 5702.

  2. Install the shift control housing assembly (2) to the transmission.
  3. Install the 4 shift control housing bolts (1) to the shift control housing and tighten to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the shift interlock washer (2) and bolt (1) and tighten to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).

  5. Install the shift lever and selector lever cable to the shift control housing. Refer to Manual Transmission Shift Lever and Selector Lever Cable Replacement .
  6. Install the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .
  7. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (without Engine Block Heater)Battery Tray Replacement (with Engine Block Heater) .
