Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) .
  3. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement  and Heater Outlet Hose Replacement .
  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  5. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (L5Q)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LV7) .
  6. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) tie bar. Refer to Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement .
  7. Remove the A/C evaporator hose assembly nut (1).

  8. Disconnect the A/C evaporator hose assembly (2) from the thermal expansion valve.
  9. Remove the HVAC module assembly to dash panel bolts (1).

  10. Remove the HVAC module assembly (1).

  11. Disconnect the HVAC module electrical connectors.
