Removal Procedure

- Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) .
- Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement and Heater Outlet Hose Replacement .
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (L5Q)Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement (LV7) .
- Remove the instrument panel (I/P) tie bar. Refer to Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement .
- Remove the A/C evaporator hose assembly nut (1).
- Disconnect the A/C evaporator hose assembly (2) from the thermal expansion valve.
- Remove the HVAC module assembly to dash panel bolts (1).
- Remove the HVAC module assembly (1).
- Disconnect the HVAC module electrical connectors.
