Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) .
  2. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LV7) .
  4. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield. Refer to Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Replacement (LV7) .
  5. Remove the air conditioning compressor tube. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Tube Replacement .
  6. Disconnect the radiator outlet clamp (1) and hose (2).

  7. Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor connector (1) and compressor clutch connector (2).

  8. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe bolts (1) and bracket bolt (2).

  9. Remove the engine coolant thermostat housing bolts (1).

  10. Remove the engine coolant thermostat housing (2).
  11. Remove the 3 water pump bolts (1).

  12. Remove the water pump assembly (2).
