Removal Procedure

- Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (L5Q) .
- Disconnect the radiator outlet clamp (1) and hose (2).
- Remove the catalytic converter heat shield cover bolts (1).
- Remove the catalytic converter heat shield cover (2).
- Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor connector (1) and compressor clutch connector (2).
- Remove the thermostat bypass pipe bolts (1) and bracket bolt (2).
- Remove the engine coolant thermostat housing bolts (1).
- Remove the engine coolant thermostat housing (2).
- Remove and DISCARD the engine coolant thermostat housing gasket (3).
- Remove the 3 water pump bolts (1).
- Remove the water pump assembly (2).
- Remove and DISCARD the water pump housing gasket (3).
