Airbag Side Impact Sensor Replacement - Front Side Door

WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning .
WARNING: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Warning .
WARNING: Following the deployment of a side impact air bag, inspect the following parts for damage. Replace these parts if necessary:
  • The seat cushion frame
  • The seat recliner, if equipped
  • The seat adjuster
  • The seat back frame

Failure to do so may cause future personal injury.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove front side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Replacement .
  3. For access to sensor detach the water deflector partly from front of door.
1 Inflatable Restraint Side Door Impact Sensor Nut
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten 
7.5 N.m (66 lb in)
2 Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Assembly

Procedure

  1. Remove the sensor out of the door panel.
  2. Disconnect electrical connector.
