Airbag Front End Sensor Replacement - Right Side

WARNING: Do not strike or jolt the inflatable restraint front end sensor. Before applying power to the front end sensor make sure that it is securely fastened. Failure to observe the correct installation procedure could cause SIR deployment, personal injury or unnecessary SIR system repairs.
WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  3. Remove the front intake air duct adapter. Refer to Front Intake Air Duct Adapter Replacement .
1 Supplemental Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor Bolt (Qty: 1)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

  1. Loosen the bolts and slide the sensors out of the keyhole slots.
  2. The bolts are integral to the sensor assembly and DO NOT remove separately.
NOTE: Integral sensor assembly bolt uses Left Hand threads. Use counterclockwise rotation to loosen fastener at TORX® tip end. If accessing at pan head end of the fastener, use clockwise rotation to loosen bolt.
NOTE: Access the bolt through the opening of the upper tie bar.

Tighten 
7.5 N.m (66 lb in)
2 Supplemental Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor Assembly
Procedure 
Disconnect electrical connector.
