Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    This step is necessary only if reusing the old engine oil level indicator switch.

  1. Install NEW Engine Oil Level Indicator Switch O-Ring Seal.
    2. NOTE:
    • Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil prior to installing the indicator switch. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
    • Use wire or suitable device to route the indicator switch connector through the oil pan opening.
    • If reinstalling the indicator switch, replace the O-ring (2).
  2. Install the engine oil level indicator switch (1).

    NOTE:

    Pull the indicator switch connector (2) through the connector opening and ensure that it is properly seated.

  3. Install the engine oil level indicator switch C-clip (1).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the 2 engine oil level indicator switch fasteners (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  5. Connect the oil level indicator switch electrical connector (1).
  6. Install the oil pan cover. Oil Pan Cover Replacement
