Measuring Procedure

- Install the EN-21867-850 adapter to the engine block and tighten to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
- Install the GE-498-B Oil Pressure Gauge (1) to the EN-21867-850 Oil Pressure Gage Adapter.
- Install the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LH7)
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
- Start the engine.
- Measure the oil pressure. Compare the engine oil pressure with the nominal value. Refer to Engine Mechanical Specifications
- Stop engine.
- If the engine oil pressure is below specifications, inspect the engine for one or more of the following conditions:
- Oil pump worn or dirty. Refer to Oil and Power Brake Booster Pump Replacement
- Oil suction gallery clogged or dirty. Refer to Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection
- Cracked, porous or restricted oil galleries.
- Oil pressure relief valve malfunction.
CAUTION:
Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .
NOTE:
The oil temperature should be between 80°C (176°F) and 100°C (212°F).
