Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition ON
- Verify DTCs P0096, P0097, P0098, P0099, P00E9, P010B, P0111, P0114, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0119, P0128, P017B, P017C, P017D, P111E, P117B, P117C, P117D, P117E, P117F or P262B are not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Ignition OFF for greater than 8 hours.
- Observe the scan tool EGR Cooler Temperature Sensor 1 and 2 parameters and compare them to the ambient temperature. The reading for EGR Cooler Temperature Sensor 1 and 2 should be within 30°C (54°F) of the ambient temperature.
- If not within the specified range
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- Go to next step: If within the specified range
- If not within the specified range
- Engine running.
- Verify the scan tool EGR Temperature Sensor 1 and EGR Temperature Sensor 2 parameters are between -39° to +999°C (-38° to +1, 830°F) and changes with engine run time.
- If not between -39° to +999°C (-38° to +1, 830°F) or does not change
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- Go to next step: If between -39° to +999°C (-38° to +1, 830°F) and changes
- If not between -39° to +999°C (-38° to +1, 830°F) or does not change
- All OK.
NOTE:
Determine the ambient temperature by using an accurate thermometer.
