Circuit/System Verification

NOTE:
  • To minimize the effects of residual engine heat and sensor internal heating elements, perform Steps 1 and 2 of this verification procedure only if the ignition has been OFF for 8 hours or more.
  • The vehicle sitting in direct sun light or having the block heater ON will skew the results.
  1. Ignition On.
  2. Verify DTC P00E9, P00EA, P00EB, P00EC, P0181, P10D6, P10D7, P10D8 or P2610 is not set.
    • Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set 
  3. Verify the following scan tool parameters are within 15°C (27°F) of each other.
    • Fuel Temperature Sensor
    • IAT Sensor 3
    • Charge Air Cooler Outlet Temperature
    • If not within 15°C (27°F) 

      Refer to Circuit System Testing.

    • Go to next step: If within 15°C (27°F) 
  4. Engine idling.
  5. Verify the scan tool Charge Air Cooler Outlet Temperature parameter is -39 to +198°C (-38 to +388°F).
    • If not between -39 to +198°C (-38 to +388°F) 

      Refer to Circuit System Testing.

    • Go to next step: If between -39 to +198°C (-38 to +388°F) 
  6. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

    Verify the DTC does not set.

    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing.

    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not set 
  7. All OK.
