Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Ignition Off and all vehicle systems Off.
  2. It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down before an accurate ground or low reference circuit continuity test can be performed.
  3. Disconnect the harness connector at the K111 Fuel Pump Driver Control Module.
  4. Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 22 and ground.
    • If 10 Ω or greater 
    1. Test for less than 2 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 22 and Terminal G402.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 2 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the ground connection.
    • Go to next step: If less than 10 Ω 
  5. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 7 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is good 
    1. Remove B+ fuse.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in the B+ circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the B+ circuit
      • If less than 2 Ω, verify the fuse is Ok and there is voltage at the fuse
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open 
    1. Remove B+ fuse.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the B+ circuit terminal 7 and ground.
      • If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit
      • If infinite resistance, replace the K111 Fuel Pump Driver Control Module
    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates 
  6. Ignition On.
  7. Verify a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 17 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is good 
    1. Remove ignition fuse.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in the ignition circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the ignition circuit
      • If less than 2 Ω, verify the fuse is Ok and there is voltage at the fuse
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open 
    1. Remove ignition fuse.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the ignition circuit terminal 17 and ground.
      • If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit
      • If infinite resistance, replace the K111 Fuel Pump Driver Control Module
    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates 
  8. Verify a test lamp illuminates between the voltage supply circuit terminal 16 and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is good 
    1. Remove voltage supply circuit fuse.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in the voltage supply circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the ignition circuit
      • If less than 2 Ω, verify the fuse is Ok and there is voltage at the fuse
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate and the circuit fuse is open 
    1. Remove voltage supply circuit fuse and all components on the same circuit.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the voltage supply circuit terminal 16 and ground.
      • If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit
      • If infinite resistance, replace the K111 Fuel Pump Driver Control Module
    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates 
  9. Replace the K111 Fuel Pump Driver Control Module.
