Installation Procedure

  1. Place a suitable adjustable jack under the fuel tank.
  2. Install Fuel Tank (1)

  3. Install Fuel Tank Straps (2) (Qty: 2)
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install and tighten Fuel Tank Strap Bolts (1) (Qty: 5) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft)

  5. Install Fuel Tank Filler Hose (3)
  6. Install and tighten Fuel Tank Filler Hose Clamp (2) and tighten to 4 N.m (35 lb in)
  7. Connect Fuel Tank Vent Hose (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  8. Connect Fuel Pump Fuel Feed Hose (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  9. Connect Fuel Pump Fuel Return Hose (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service 
  10. Connect Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module Wiring Harness (1) (Qty: 2)
  11. Install Driveline Torque Tube. Refer to Driveline Torque Tube Replacement
  12. Install Exhaust Muffler Assembly. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LH7)
  13. Install Underbody Rear Air Deflector. Refer to Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement (All Wheel Drive)Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement (Diesel)
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Refill the fuel tank.
  16. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming 
  17. Inspect for fuel leaks.
