- Ignition On.
- Verify that DTCs P00C7, P00EA, P00EB, P00EC, P0097, P0098, P0099, P0102, P0103, P0106, P0107, P0108, P0111, P0112, P0113, P0114, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0119, P0128, P0201, P0202, P0203, P0204, P020A, P020B, P020C, P020D, P0216, P02EE, P02EF, P02E8, P02E9, P02F0, P02F1, P0261, P0262, P0264, P0265, P0267, P0268, P0270, P0271, P0405, P0406, P049D, P0502, P0503, P062B, P062D, P0722, P0723, P111E, P122D, P124A, P124B, P1248, P1249, P126A, P16A0, P16A1, P16A2, P2147, P2148, P2150, P2151, P2227, P2228, P2229, and P2230 are not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- If any of the DTCs are set
- To minimize the effects of residual engine heat, perform Step 3 of this verification procedure only if the ignition has been OFF for 8 hours or more.
- The vehicle sitting in direct sun light or having the block heater ON will skew the results.
- Verify the following scan tool parameters are within 25°C (45°F) of each other.
- Start-Up IAT Sensor 1
- Start-Up IAT Sensor 2
- Start-Up IAT Sensor 3
- If a parameter is not within 25°C (45°F) of the others
Refer to the appropriate procedure listed below for further diagnosis.
- Refer to DTC P0096 or P0111 for IAT 1 or IAT 2.
- Refer to DTC P00E9 for IAT 3.
- Go to next step: If all are within 25°C (45°F)
- Engine running at a warm stabilized idle, perform the following:
- Command the EGR Valve to 0% with a scan tool.
- Verify the Induction System Leak Indication parameter is between 0.75:1 and 1.25:1 for at least 10 s.
- If not stable or between 0.75:1 and 1.25:1 after 10 s
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- Go to next step: If stable and between 0.75:1 and 1.25:1 after 10 s
- Ignition On, engine Off, verify the scan tool MAP Sensor and BARO Sensor 2 parameters are within 4 kPa (0.58 PSI) of each other.
- If not within 4 kPa (0.58 PSI).
Refer to DTC P0106 for further diagnosis.
- Go to next step: If within 4 kPa (0.58 PSI).
- If not within 4 kPa (0.58 PSI).
- Verify the scan tool MAF Sensor g/s parameter changes smoothly and gradually as the engine speed is increased and decreased while performing the actions listed below.
- Engine idling
- Increase the engine speed slowly to 3, 000 RPM and then back to idle.
- Exit from the scan tool data list and review the stored data within the Stored Data function of the scan tool.
- Observe the MAF Sensor parameter frame by frame.
- If the MAF Sensor parameter does not change smoothly and or gradually
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- Go to next step: If the MAF Sensor parameter changes smoothly and gradually
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to Circuit/System Testing.
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
NOTE:
