Removal Procedure

- Engine Sight Shield - Remove - Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct - Remove - Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
- Exhaust Front Pipe - Remove - Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement .
- Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter - Remove - Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement .
Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Quick Connector - Release
- Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose(3)@Turbocharger(1) - Remove
Clamp(3)@Turbocharger - Loosen
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose(4)@Turbocharger(2) - Remove
- Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose - Remove - Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose Replacement .
- Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe - Remove - Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Replacement .
- Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe - Remove - Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Replacement .
- Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe - Remove - Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe Replacement .
- Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe - Remove - Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement .
Turbocharger Brace Bolt(1) - Remove and DISCARD[2x]
- Turbocharger Brace(2) - Remove
- Clean the threads of the fasteners.
- Disconnect the turbocharger wastegate regulator solenoid valve wiring harness plug.
- NOTE:
Exhaust manifold bolts with high loosening torque need to be disassembled last to prevent bolt from breaking. Due to the relaxed system (when all other bolts are loosened) the manifold can shift a little and reduce the friction at the bolt threads.
Exhaust Manifold Bolt(3) - Remove and DISCARD[9x]
- Exhaust Manifold and Turbocharger Assembly(2) - Remove
- Exhaust Manifold Gasket(1) - Remove and DISCARD
- Clean all sealing surfaces.
- Clean the threads of the exhaust manifold bolts.[9x]
- Turbocharger - Disassemble - Turbocharger Disassemble .
NOTE:
It is NOT necessary to remove the hose from the camshaft cover (1).
