Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Buick Cascada, 2018 Buick Cascada, and 2017 Buick Cascada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turbocharger - Assemble - Turbocharger Assemble .
  2. GM2906674
    NOTE:

    Exhaust manifold bolts with high loosening torque need to be disassembled last to prevent bolt from breaking. Due to the relaxed system (when all other bolts are loosened) the manifold can shift a little and reduce the friction at the bolt threads.

    Exhaust Manifold Gasket(1) - Install NEW

  3. Exhaust Manifold and Turbocharger Assembly(2) - Install
    4. CAUTION:

    This is a self-retaining fastener joint that does not require thread locking compounds. Do not attempt to clean the threads with a standard tap. If a standard tap is used, damage to the joint threads will occur.

  4. Exhaust Manifold Bolt(3) - Install NEW - Do NOT tighten.[9x]

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Exhaust Manifold Bolt(1) - Tighten in sequence[9x] 20N.m (15 lb ft)

  6. Connect the turbocharger wastegate regulator solenoid valve wiring harness plug.

    Turbocharger Brace(2) - Install

  8. Turbocharger Brace Bolt(1) - Install NEW[2x]
    9. CAUTION:

    This is a self-retaining fastener joint that does not require thread locking compounds. Do not attempt to clean the threads with a standard tap. If a standard tap is used, damage to the joint threads will occur.

  9. Turbocharger Brace Bolt(1) - Tighten
    1. First Pass:4N.m (35 lb in)
    2. Final Pass:25N.m (18 lb ft)
  10. Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe - Install - Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement .
  11. Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe - Install - Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe Replacement .
  12. Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe - Install - Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Replacement .
  13. Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe - Install - Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Replacement .
  14. Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose - Install - Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose Replacement .
  15. GM2906656

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose(4)@Turbocharger(2) - Install

  16. Clamp(3)@Turbocharger - Install
  17. GM2968099

    Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose(3)@Turbocharger(1) - Install

  18. Charge Air Cooler Inlet Hose Quick Connector - Install
  19. Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter - Install - Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement .
  20. Exhaust Front Pipe - Install - Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement .
  21. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct - Install - Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  22. Engine Sight Shield - Install - Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
