Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the throttle body. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .
Disconnect the booster vacuum pipe (1) from the intake manifold (2).
- WARNING:
Refer to Diesel/Gasoline Vapors Warning .
Disconnect the fuel vent pipe (1) from the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Close the vents with the EN - 6015 plugs.
Disconnect the intake air pressure/temperature sensor wiring harness plug (1).
- Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve wiring harness plug (2).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Disconnect the charge air bypass valve wiring harness plug (5).
- Unclip the 3 wiring harness retainers (4, 6).
- Unclip the charge air bypass valve tube (3).
Remove the charge air bypass valve hose clamp (2).
- Remove the charge air bypass valve hose (3) from the charge air bypass valve - intake manifold (1).
- Lower the vehicle.
- NOTE:
The bolts remains at the intake manifold.
Remove the 7 intake manifold bolts (1) from the cylinder head.
Remove the intake manifold (1).
- Remove and DISCARD the intake manifold seal (2).
- Disassemble the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Disassemble .
