Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine shield, if equipped. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
  2. Remove the underbody front brace. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Front .
  3. GM2966466

    Remove the oil pan drain plug (2) from the oil pan (1).

  4. Drain the engine oil.
  5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Install the NEW oil pan drain plug to the oil pan and tighten to 14 N.m (124 lb in).

    Remove the 3 oil level sensor bolts (2).

  8. Remove the oil level sensor (3).
  9. Remove the oil level sensor gasket (1).
