Removal Procedure

Refer to Exhaust Service Warning .

CAUTION:

Refer to Exhaust Flexible Pipe Bending Caution .

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the underbody brace - front. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Front .
  3. Remove the underbody brace - middle. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Middle X-Rod .
  4. Remove the underbody brace - rear V-rod. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Rear V-Rod .
  5. Support the exhaust muffler.
  6. For exhaust cutting instructions refer to Exhaust System Cutting .

    Note the dent mark (1) around the exhaust pipe.

  8. GM2373096

    Cut the exhaust muffler from the exhaust rear muffler at the marked position (1), use the CH-6614  cutter (2).

  9. GM2538023

    Remove the 2 nuts (3).

  10. Unsupport and remove the exhaust muffler (1).
  11. Remove and DISCARD the gasket (2).
