Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Buick Cascada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. GM2538024
    NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

    Install the exhaust muffler (2) with a NEW gasket (3) to the catalytic converter.

  2. Support the exhaust muffler.
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the 2 nuts (4) and tighten to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).
  4. Install the exhaust pipe clamp (1) and loosely tighten.
  5. Position the exhaust rear muffler and the exhaust rear auxiliary muffler.
  6. Tighten the exhaust pipe clamp (1) to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
  7. Install the underbody brace - front. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Front .
  8. Install the underbody brace - middle. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Middle X-Rod .
  9. Install the underbody brace - rear V-rod. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Rear V-Rod .
  10. GM3462374

    There must be a distance (a) between the underbody brace - rear V-rod (2) and exhaust pipe (1) of 16 mm (0.63 in).

  11. If distance (a) between underbody - rear V-rod (2) and exhaust pipe (1) is under 16 mm (0.63 in) align the exhaust pipe once again by loosen the exhaust pipe nuts.
  12. Lower and unsupport the vehicle.
