Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the engine shield, if equipped. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
  4. Remove the underbody brace - front. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Front

    CAUTION:

    In order to prevent any possible electrostatic discharge damage to the ECM, do not touch the connector pins.

    Disconnect the knock sensor wiring harness plug (3).

  6. Remove the knock sensor bolt (1).
  7. Remove the knock sensor (2).
