Removal Procedure

Refer to Diesel/Gasoline Vapors Warning .

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Engine Sight Shield Replacement - Remove
  3. GM3011730

    Disconnect the fuel vent pipe (1) from the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  4. GM3011731

    Open the upper bulkhead clip (3).

  5. Unclip the evaporative emission front pipe (1) from the clip (2).
  6. Remove the evaporative emission front pipe (1) from the upper bulkhead clip.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. - Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  8. Underbody Brace Replacement - Front - Remove
  9. Underbody Brace Replacement - Middle X-Rod - Remove

    Remove the frame rear bolts (1).

  11. Remove the front compartment front panel bolts (2).
  12. Remove the right front compartment front panel (3).
  13. GM2191622

    Open the 4 fuel pipe clips (2) to remove fuel pipe (1).

  14. Remove the lower bulkhead clip.
  15. GM2191588

    Disconnect the evaporative emission canister fuel vent pipe connector (1) from the evaporative emission front pipe (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  16. Open the fuel pipe clip (2) and remove the evaporative emission front pipe (3).
