Folding Top Adjustment (With BO-51074-NA Remove/Install and Adjustment Set): Adjustment

  1. Prepare the gauge for measurement plane III.
    • Combine the single feeler gauges to a package (feeler gauge package III) according to distance measured at measurement plane II.
  2. GM3213230

    Loosen the folding top anchor plate bolts (1) and the folding top hinge bolts (2).

  3. GM3398184

    Paste the feeler gauge package III (1) with an adhesive strip (2) onto the folding top hinge.

    4. NOTE:

    Second technician is required.

  4. First mechanic pulls the folding top until the feeler gauge package III touches the BO-51074-NA  remove/ install adjustment set.
  5. GM3398205

    Pull the folding top upwards until the feeler gauge package II (1) has a tight fitting at measurement plane II

  6. When the folding top is in position according to the BO-51074-NA  remove/ install adjustment set the second mechanic tightens the folding top hinge bolts.
  7. Check the adjustment of the folding top hinge.
    8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Tighten the folding top hinge bolts with 31 N.m (23 lb ft).
  9. Position the folding top anchor plate according to the folding top hinge.
  10. Tighten the folding top anchor plate bolts with 31 N.m (23 lb ft).
  11. Apply paint sealing to the folding top anchor plate bolts.
  12. Repeat step on the other side.
  13. Remove the BO-51074  gauge.
  14. Close and open the folding top manually. Refer to Folding Top Manual Operation .
  15. Remove the quarter window trim finish panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  16. Remove and lay aside the quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  17. Remove the body side front lower trim panel. Refer to Body Side Front Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  18. Remove the rear seat back cushion pad. Refer to Rear Seat Back Side Pad Replacement .
  19. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Removal and Installation .
  20. Remove the quarter window outer belt sealing strip. Refer to Quarter Window Outer Belt Sealing Strip Replacement .
