Installation Procedure

  1. GM2969201

    With the aid of an assistant, load the instrument panel (1) to the instrument panel tie bar to the locator pins.

  2. Reposition the instrument panel wiring harness into the vehicle position as was noted in the removal and connect the fasteners securing the instrument panel wiring harness to the instrument carrier (1).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Install the instrument panel bolts (1) and tighten to 4 N.m (53 lb in).

    Install the radio front speaker bracket (1) - both sides. Refer to Radio Front Speaker Bracket Replacement .

    Install the sun load temperature sensor (1). Refer to Sun Load Temperature Sensor Replacement .

    Install the radio front center speaker (3). Refer to Radio Front Center Speaker Replacement .

    Install the instrument panel upper outer trim panel (1) - both sides. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Outer Trim Panel Replacement .

    Install the instrument hood lower (1).

    Install the steering wheel upper trim cover (1). Refer to Steering Column Upper Trim Cover Replacement .

    Install the instrument panel upper trim panel (2).

  12. Install the 3 instrument panel upper trim panel bolts (1).
  13. Install the instrument panel outer air outlet ducts. Refer to and Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side .

    Install the driver information display cover (1). Refer to Driver Information Display Cover Replacement .

    Install the instrument cluster cover (1). Refer to Instrument Cluster Cover Replacement .

    If equipped, install the instrument panel lower airbag - passenger side (2). Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Replacement - Passenger Side .

    WARNING:

    Verify the proper installation of the airbag disable switch. Ensure the airbag disable switch is functioning properly by activating and deactivating the switch. If the airbag disable switch is not properly installed, and its function is not verified, the airbag may discharge improperly and cause personal injury or death.

    Install the instrument panel outer trim cover (1) - right side. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Right Side .

  31. If equipped, connect the inflatable restraint instrument panel compartment module disable switch (2).

    Install the instrument panel outer trim cover (1) - left side. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Left Side .

  33. If equipped, connect the theft deterrent passenger compartment sensor disable switch (2).

    Install the instrument panel center trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement .

    Clip in the transmission control lever boot (1). Refer to Transmission Control Lever Knob Replacement

    Install the right instrument panel lower extension (1). Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Extension Replacement .
