Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Apply a light coat of grease (1) on the inside of the ignition coil opening (2). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants and SealersWARNING: In order to avoid flying sparks and electric shorts, ONLY use the GM special grease (non electrically conducting) for the ignition coils. The usage of other grease could result in a fatal electric shock, fire and severe damage to the vehicle.
- Use the tip of the grease tube (1) to allot the grease onto the ignition coil (2).
- The measurement (a) of the grease tube tip (without thread) is equal to the measurement (b) of the ignition coil coating area.
- Ignition Coil (2) - Install [4x]
- Ignition Coil Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Ignition Coil Electrical Connector (1) - Connect [4x]
- Battery Negative Cable - Connect Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (HP4)
- Intake Manifold Cover - Install Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
