Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

To maintain a similar state of charge among all cell groups, the hybrid/EV powertrain control module 2 monitors the cell group voltages and determines which cell groups need energy removed in order to maintain the battery groups at a similar state of charge. This is known as cell balancing. There is a transistor switched resistor wired in parallel with each cell group internal to the hybrid/EV battery interface control module. The hybrid/EV powertrain control module 2 sends a command to the hybrid/EV battery interface control module to begin cell balancing.
