Removal Procedure

Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (without KL9)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (with KL9) .
Remove the charge air cooler outlet air tube. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube Replacement .
Remove the transmission control module bracket. Refer to Transmission Control Module Bracket Replacement
Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill
Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler inlet (2) pipe from the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LFV With MHN)Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement (LKN With MKE) .

Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler outlet (1) pipe from the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (LFV With MHN)Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (LKN With MKE) .
Disconnect the control valve body transmission control module electrical connector (1), then unclip the wiring harness from the cover.

Remove the body ground cable and wiring harness assembly mounting bolt at front of transmission and position ground cable and harness out of the way.
Remove the control valve body cover bolts (1, 2).

Remove the control valve body cover (1).

Clean the transmission case and control valve body cover gasket surfaces. Inspect and replace the gasket as necessary.
