Component Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: S3 Transmission Shift Lever
  3. Test for 5, 800 to 6, 400 Ω between the test points: Signal terminal 3 & Ground terminal 2
    • If not between 5, 800 and 6, 400 Ω 

      Replace the component: S3 Transmission Shift Lever

    • If between 5, 800 and 6, 400 Ω 
  4. Press and hold the switch: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch=Up
  5. Test for 575 to 700 Ω between the test points: Signal terminal 3 & Ground terminal 2
    • If not between 575 to 700 Ω 

      Replace the component: S3 Transmission Shift Lever

    • If between 575 to 700 Ω 
  6. Press and hold the switch: S2 Transmission Manual Shift Switch=Down
  7. Test for 1900 to 2100 Ω between the test points: Signal terminal 3 & Ground terminal 2
    • If not between 1900 and 2100 Ω 

      Replace the component: S3 Transmission Shift Lever

    • If between 1900 and 2100 Ω 
  8. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: S3 Transmission Shift Lever

    • If infinite resistance 
  9. All OK.
