Removal Procedure
- Drain the transmission fluid into a suitable container. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill .
- Remove the charge air cooler outlet air hose. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 Fill) and Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe from the transmission fluid cooler pipe connectors. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (6T30-MH9 and 6T40-MH8) and Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (AF40-MDK) .
- Remove and DISCARD the fluid cooler connector (1) and the O-ring (2) from the radiator.
NOTE: Do not remove the upper and lower transmission fluid cooler fittings from the radiator at the same time otherwise the transmission oil cooler will fall inside the radiator end tank.
