Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect the NEW O-ring (2) seals for cracks, cuts or damage. Replace if necessary.

  2. Install the NEW fluid cooler connector (1) to the radiator and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
    NOTE: The correct thread engagement is critical. Cross-threaded fittings can achieve proper tightness and still leak.
  3. Install the transmission fluid cooler inlet and outlet pipe to the transmission fluid cooler pipe connectors. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (6T30-MH9 and 6T40-MH8)  and Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (AF40-MDK) .
  4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716 Fill) and Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) .
  5. Install the charge air cooler outlet air hose. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement .
  6. Fill the transmission to a proper level with the correct fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill .
  7. Inspect for fluid leaks.
