Preliminary Procedures Remove battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement . Remove radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (1.4L LUV) . Remove charge air cooler outlet air hose. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement (Manual Transmission) and Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement (Automatic Transmission) . Disconnect the transmission pipe from the radiator and transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (6T30-MH9 and 6T40-MH8) and Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (AF40-MDK) . Note the routing of the transmission pipe to ensure proper installation. Remove the transmission pipe from the clips securing the line to the transmission and inlet pipe.
1	Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Nut CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
2	Sealing Washer Procedure DISCARD the sealing washer and use NEW only.
3	Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Procedure Fill the transmission to a proper level with the correct fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill .
