Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Drain the transmission fluid into a suitable container. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill .
- Remove the charge air cooler outlet air hose. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement .
- Pull the 2 plastic caps (2) back from the 2 transmission fluid cooler pipe connectors (1) and along the hose (3). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (6T30-MH9 and 6T40-MH8) and Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (AF40-MDK) .
- Unclip the transmission fluid cooler hose (3) from the retainers (4).
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose (3) from the 2 transmission fluid cooler pipe connectors (1).
- Plug and/or cap the hose and transmission fluid cooler pipe connectors to prevent contamination.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose nut (3).
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose (2) from the transmission connectors (1).
- Plug and/or cap the hose and transmission to prevent contamination.
