Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Drain the transmission fluid into a suitable container. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill .
  3. Remove the charge air cooler outlet air hose. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement .
  4. Pull the 2 plastic caps (2) back from the 2 transmission fluid cooler pipe connectors (1) and along the hose (3). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (6T30-MH9 and 6T40-MH8)  and Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection (AF40-MDK) .

  5. Unclip the transmission fluid cooler hose (3) from the retainers (4).
  6. Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose (3) from the 2 transmission fluid cooler pipe connectors (1).
  7. Plug and/or cap the hose and transmission fluid cooler pipe connectors to prevent contamination.
  8. Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose nut (3).

  9. Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose (2) from the transmission connectors (1).
  10. Plug and/or cap the hose and transmission to prevent contamination.
