Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement (New Belt)  and Timing Belt Replacement (Used Belt) .
  2. Remove the crankshaft sprocket. Refer to Crankshaft Sprocket Replacement .
  3. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the oil flow control solenoid valve electrical connector.
  5. Remove the 5 short oil pump bolts (5) and the 2 long oil pump bolts (4).

    NOTE: Mark the position of the bolts because of the different length. Lower left bolt already removed during timing belt removal.
  6. Remove the oil pump (3) and the oil pump gasket (2) from the engine block (1).
