Engine Block Core Hole Plug Removal - Transmission Side

  1. Strike a hole into the plug (1).

    CAUTION: Do not drill out engine block core hole plugs. Metal fragments could fall into the oil channel and lead to engine damage.
  2. Use a suitable tool (3).
  3. The hole diameter inside the plug (1) should amount 6 to 7 mm (1) (0.236 to 0.275 in).

  4. To remove the core hole plug (2) put a suitable tool (1) into the hole and push in direction of the arrow.

    NOTE: Do not damage the sealing surface.
  5. Remove the old gasket material.
