Engine Block Core Hole Plug Removal - Timing Side

  1. Strike a hole into the plug (2).

    CAUTION: Do not use a drill to aid in engine core plug removal. Metal particles from the core plug can fall into the oil channels and cause engine damage.
  2. Use a suitable tool (1).
  3. The diameter should amount 6 to 7 mm (0.236 to 0.275 in).

  4. To remove the core hole plug (1) put a suitable tool (2) into the hole and push in direction of the arrow.

    NOTE: Do not damage the sealing surface.
  5. Remove the old gasket material.
