Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
- To minimize the effects of residual engine heat and sensor internal heating elements, perform this verification procedure only if the ignition has been OFF for 8 hours or more.
- The vehicle sitting in direct sun light or having the block heater ON will skew the results.
- After Ignition has been OFF for 8 hours or more.
- Ignition ON.
- Verify the following scan tool parameters are within 20°C (68°F) of each other.
- ECT Sensor
- IAT Sensor 1
- If not within 20°C (68°F)
Refer to Component Testing .
- If within 20°C (68°F)
- Engine idling.
- Verify that scan tool parameter IAT Sensor 1 is within -39°C to 129°C (-38°F to 264°F).
- If not within -39°C to 129°C (-38°F to 264°F)
Perform the diagnostic for DTC P0112 or P0113. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- If within -39°C to 129°C (-38°F to 264°F)
- If not within -39°C to 129°C (-38°F to 264°F)
- Verify that scan tool parameter ECT Sensor is within -39°C to 139°C (-38°F to 282°F).
- If not within -39°C to 139°C (-38°F to 282°F)
Perform the diagnostic for DTC P0117 or P0118. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- If within -39°C to 139°C (-38°F to 282°F)
- If not within -39°C to 139°C (-38°F to 282°F)
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
- Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to Component Testing
- If the DTC does not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
