Component Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, remove the appropriate sensor below.
    • Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
    • IAT Sensor 1
  2. Test the appropriate sensor by varying the sensor temperature while monitoring the sensor resistance. Compare the readings with the Temperature Versus Resistance (EGT Sensors) , Temperature Versus Resistance (EGR Temperature Sensors) , Temperature Versus Resistance (Reductant Injector) , Temperature Versus Resistance (Reductant Tank Temperature Sensor) , Temperature Versus Resistance (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor) , Temperature Versus Resistance - Intake Air Temperature Sensor (Bosch Sensor) and Temperature Versus Resistance - Intake Air Temperature Sensor (Delco Sensor) table and verify that the resistance is within 5% of the specification.
    • If not within the specified range 

      Replace the Sensor.

    • If within the specified range 
  3. All OK.
