Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill .
  3. Remove the charge air cooler outlet air hose. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement .
  4. Loosen the transmission fluid cooler hose from the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose Replacement .
  5. Unclip the 2 wiring harness clips (4) from the bracket (2).

  6. Remove the transmission wiring harness bracket bolt (3) and the transmission wiring harness bracket (2).
  7. Remove the 11 control valve body cover bolts (2).

  8. Remove the control valve body cover (1).
    NOTE:

    Do not pry with a tool on the transmission control valve body cover, case or sealing surfaces.

    Release the valve body cover by gently tapping with a plastic hammer.

  9. Remove the control valve body. Refer to Control Valve Body Replacement .
    NOTE: The valve body must be removed in order to prevent contamination when cleaning the sealing surfaces.
  10. Clean the sealing surfaces and inspect the gasket mounting surface.
